For years I had longish hair. Roughly the same length for 15 years - about 6 inches past my shoulders. Sometimes it was a little longer (when it was healthy and I treated it well), but never shorter. I couldn't pull off a shorter cut - not me - at least that's what I thought. But one day last November, while in Paris and sipping on a cappuccino in a cafe, I decided I had to give it a go.

I've been denim-obsessed for a few years now. It's the easiest thing to reach for, and with how many different ways there are to style it, it's endlessly versatile. But sometimes I find myself getting to comfortable with my routine of blue jeans + a white shirt, and find myself wanting to mix things up. Today I'm talking about taking risks when it comes to denim.

Let's talk skincare - more specifically - deep treatments. Sure, I moisturize, I have a separate eye cream, I wear sunscreen - but aside from using various surface level facemasks, I rarely think about deep treatments for my skin. This year, however, I started really thinking about taking care of my skin, and focusing on repairing some of the damage that I've caused from a few years of neglect. The newest addition to my routine? Sunday Riley.

I spend a lot of time in my apartment. True, I'm a homebody at heart, but I also work from home, so it's not unusual for me to spend a whole day without leaving my little apartment. And while I love where I work and live, I realized that I had a bit of a problem - it's a small space, built in the 20s, so it can often use a little extra TLC when it comes to cleaning. I was used to turning to store-bought chemical filled products that while they totally worked, left me feeling nauseous after breathing in the fumes. Not good. So I began to seek out natural solutions.

On yesterdays blog post, I talked about bidding farewell to skinny jeans. And while I'm probably not going to give them up entirely (they're just too versatile!) I am having fun styling looser fits and wide leg shapes. These pants from Lykke Wullf have a particularly special place in my heart and have been one of my favorite new pieces to style. I've been a slave to skinny jeans for a long time now. High rise, tight fitting - they really do go with everything and are so easy to throw on. But lately I've realized how lazy wearing them has made me. They're my version of sweatpants (ok, totally not as comfy, but still) and have allowed me to lose creativity when coming up with my outfits. I'm trying to make an effort this year to push myself, to not only try new styles, but to fall back in love with creating outfits. After all, it's why I started blogging in the first place.
