Rainy Day

Yesterday was one of those ever-so-rare in California rainy days. I love the rain, and since I don't get to see it very often, it's always a treat for me. It gave me an excuse to dig out my rainboots (I know, unnecessary purchase), my vintage umbrella, and my trench coat. Normally when it's stormy out I like to sit inside cuddled up with a book and listen to the sound of the drops hitting the roof, but as it's such a busy time of year I had no such luck. I had to go to a half-dozen places to run errands, so my rainboots got more use than jut jumping in puddles in my driveway.

I especially had a lot of errands to run, because earlier this week my dad was in a bike accident. He shattered his femur, has had surgery to place a rod in, and has been recovering in the hospital ever since. With him being immobile it means my whole family has a lot more to do to help out - getting the right medical accessories for him to be able to come home, taking turns going to the hospital, and just a lot of little things like going to the grocery store and the post office for him. It's going to be a long recovery, but I think we're off to a good start. We're just thankful it wasn't anything more serious.

I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving here in the states, and to everyone else abroad, I hope you had a lovely week!

  2. I wish we only had rain here in Wisconsin.... Love your look girl! Super cute umbrella!

  3. I live in Phoenix and I own the "unnecessary rain boots" too :) You definitely appreciate the rain more in places that are normally always sunny! Love this rainy day look!

  4. Love your sweater! I always jump at the chance to wear my rainboots. :)

  5. In an era where X-Box and PlayStation rule, the joy of playing board games has fallen by the wayside. These type of days are perfect for pulling out the Scrabble board or Bingo cards or even the Candyland game for the little ones. Crazy Eights anyone? Everyone will get so caught up in the games that they won't even notice the gray skies outside.Compact Analysis
