New Boots

The last few days have been a bit tough. I've been more emotional than usual, and had my fair share of mini-meltdowns, tears and all. Sometimes things can just get overwhelming, but I always bounce back. I'm generally a very happy person, and that serves me well. Plus my boyfriend knows how to take care of me and cheer me up (like with a bottle of champagne and some pizza). And on top of that sweetness, I had some more joy arrive in the form of these boots.

THESE BOOTS. OMG. Can we talk about how fantastic they are? They arrived on my front porch at 2:00 and were on my feet at 2:03. For a few minutes I was afraid they were a little too snug - but then in true Swedish Hasbeens fashion they stretched slightly and molded to my feet perfectly. They are so soft and the leather smells incredible. Swedish Hasbeens have been and will continue to be my favorite label. They just know quality - every step of the assembly process makes these shoes the type you'll treasure forever.

I live in Southern California and while it's not entirely Autumnal around here (can you say 90+ degrees?) I'm already dreaming of mixing these boots with sumptuous knits and wool coats. For now, I paired them with my Rodarte for Target leopard dress and my Rodarte for Target jean jacket. Totally by accident that I was wearing two pieces from the same line, but hey, they work together. Fun fact: I own two versions of this leopard dress - one with sleeves, and one with the sleeves cutoff. I got both of them used for like $10 a piece and they're such an easy go-to dress. Good for casual days or even dressing them up. Plus this outfit gave me a chance to show off this patch I got in the mail last week. I found it on etsy for $2.50 and knew I had to have it. It was just too silly to pass up.

So my advice - when you're having a bad day or a bad week, just throw on some of your favorites and maybe a new pair of boots. It does wonders.
