I feel so spoiled after this weekend. I got to go to Palm Springs last minute on the most incredible vacation, and somehow managed to not spend much money! As a thrifty girl, this was key. My good friends and I went to The Parker (so fancy), and got the most amazing deal ever. Included with each nights stay was $200 to spend on food anywhere in the hotel. At the restaurant, poolside, even room service. That's right. ROOM SERVICE.
I've said it before, but I've never had much money, so the idea of room service was always the mystical, even foreign concept. So when I figured out that I would in fact be getting breakfast (my favorite meal) delivered to our room, I was beyond thrilled. Like jumping up and down thrilled. We ordered almost everything off the menu and then shared all the dishes. Divine coffee, fresh berries, and beautiful pastries. All included with the stay in the room. So so tasty.
Other than the food (which was my highlight!) we managed to keep cool in the 105 degree heat by splashing around the saline pool and enjoying refreshing cocktails. Since I was trying to save as much as possible, we mostly brought our own drinks, which of course meant mostly champagne. Yum. I ended up hiding under the umbrellas as much as possible to avoid sunburn and general over-heating. It was such a relaxing time, and I'm happy I was able to be thrifty.
If you're ever in Palm Springs, I can't recommend The Parker enough. They have beautiful villas, outdoor games, an indoor pool, and the most lush landscaping imaginable. Plus, if you visit their website here, you can see the special promotion we used to get all the tasty food they have to offer. It is appropriately called the Glutton's Delight package. No regrets.
