Bettie Page

It's always so exciting to discover a new favorite brand. I stumbled upon Las Vegas label Bettie Page just last week, and I was instantly smitten. I was combing through my favorite second hand store, and came upon this Pepto Bismol-pink dress for $25. I try to spend under $20 whenever I can, but something about the cut of this dress was calling me. I tried it on, and knew I'd struck gold. It's made of a stretchy, super flattering material, and best of all - it doesn't wrinkle. Since I tend to keep my clothes in the trunk of my car, things that don't wrinkle are a must. Plus, I've never used an iron in my life. I know, I'm crazy!

I'm a bit ashamed to say it, but I've totally worn this exact outfit three times since I purchased the dress. I just can't get enough of it! And since the dress normally retails for over $100, it's great quality. I paired it with my trusty Swedish Hasbeens and this little 50s purse I scored at an estate sale a few weeks ago. It was $8 and stuffed with old papers to keep it's shape. I like to imagine that its previous owner was super sassy and fabulous. She probably wore a lot of hats too. Who knows? That's the nice thing about vintage - you can create your own backstory to every piece.

  5. You do wear lovely clothes and they look fabulous on you. I wasn't aware that it was a hobby of yours. The dress you wore to meet my mom made you look like a race horse, meaning that in a good way, of course. It fit you perfectly and it was beautifully styled. I wondered that day if you had your clothes made to fit. It appears from what I've read that you know the right people to do so if you need to.
