Yesterday was one of those days where the pressure is usually really on. It was Mother's day, and for a lot of families that means an elaborate brunch, breakfast in bed, and gathering a lot of family together. But for my mom, we do things a little different. There's a great section of Antique malls just a town away (In Old Town Orange), so my boyfriend, my sister, my friend, and my mom all piled into my car and headed there. It was funny seeing all the people lined up outside of restaurants, big groups waiting for tables. We went antiquing for a few hours and then hit the dive bar across the street and continued the celebration with beer, darts, pool, and a juke box.
It may not have been the most traditional way to celebrate the day, but my mom had a great time. So did I! Not having to worry about all of those little details that get in the way meant that we actually had a good time. Plus, having my boyfriend meant that we had a designated driver, so we were free to get a little tipsy. Always a good thing. And the holiday was the perfect occasion for me to wear my new Dahlia Pinafore! I've been in love with this dress for a bit, so when I was offered a blogger discount of half off, I couldn't say no! I paired it with a blouse underneath that's in my shop (yeah, sometimes I wear the things I'm selling out - not too often though!), and my trusty Swedish Hasbeens. Add a tote bag, and it's perfect lazy Sunday shopping outfit.
