Moonrise Kingdom

As a long time fan of Wes Anderson movies, I eagerly awaited the release of Moonrise Kingdom. I found all the screen shots I could prior to its release, looked up the soundtrack, etc. So when it finally hit theaters, I was there the week it came out. And naturally, I loved it. I loved every aspect of it- the story, the music, the whole style of it.

But most of all I loved the costumes. Specifically Suzy Bishop's costumes. She spends almost the entire film in a collared a-line mod mini dress, with binoculars around her neck and a pair of "sunday school shoes". The second the movie was over I started searching high and low for a similar dress. I just had to find it. And low and behold, only a few days later, I did!

I found it on Etsy, in a shop called The Velvet Elephant. It originally had wrist length belled sleeves and a belt around the waist. I took it to a local tailor, had it altered, and this is the result. The perfect Suzy Bishop dress.
